What happens when you have a public holiday? Yes, enjoyment. Lots of outings. Family reunions. Blah blah blah blah blah.
But one specific detail i find rather comical when it comes to public holiday would be when EVERYONE experience public holiday. What i'm trying to derive on is that when Bangladesh-ians too spend their quality time enjoying. Oh wait. And where did they specifically 'enjoy' themselves? Jurong East Interchange. Yes, they did, a whole pile of them slacking there.
I'm not being racist or discriminatory here but i just couldn't stand them. Even my mum complained about their 'hanging out' schedule. Its just that they have nothing to do, when we, have our own celebrations to take care of when they happened to be there obstructing us. Maybe obstructing isn't the right word to explain it but it's just - yea.
It's Hari Raya Aidiladha, for those who didn't have the Pete's time to refer to any old 2007 calender. And yes, our family does it every Hari Raya to gather at my grandparent's house, which is, at my uncle's house. Well, it happened to be that their house must be located at the other end of where i live - Pasir Ris. So, my family had to go all the way there by our sweet, air-conditioned MRT.
It wouldn't be a problem for us. Until these Bangladesh-ians have to share the same MRT as us. I know Singapore needs manpower for engineering purposes and all. But well, they did created some form of 'trouble' in the MRT. It all happened when there is this one Bangladesh who happened to stand beside me. And my small brother was sitting in front of us. During that time, i was hoping that the person sitting beside my brother would get up and leave the train. But noooooo. I have to wait 7-8 stops. (my brother was sitting on the 2-seater seats).
And when the person did stood up, This Bangladesh-ian rushed straight at the seat. And i mean, RUSHED, knocking my shoulder forward. I mean c'mon lah. I was in the train earlier than you. I was standing longer than you. My stop is further than you. And you just snatched that seat away from me?! I know nobody would care all these things when it comes to this. But I DO!
Hoo. I showed him my you-better-dont-make-me-piss-or-i-will-rip-you-apart-alive face. And he replied, 'you wan't to sit?' I rejected. Like whatever? He sit already then ask. Na bei. I just gave him the roll eyes. And i reckoned a lot of people witnessed it.
Who cares. Just that these Bangladesh-ians would just buzz off during public holidays? Lucky i got to sit beside my mummy.
Anyway, reached the place and come bonding sessions. Lontong was the craze! And Asian Idol was the entertainment. Nothing really special. Only questions of how's life, school, fashion (yes, fashion!) and stuff like that. Didn't have the umph factor to catch some pictures though. Stayed for more than 5 hours and off to home.
And guessed what, at 820pm, Jurong East Bus Interchange, a whole crowd of these Bangladesh-ians were crowding to go on board bus 78. I was like oh my God. I can see passerby laughing and observing them. Well, i joined them.
Homed at 845pm.
To all muslims, A Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha. And to all Christians, A Merry Christmas - 5760 mins to Christmas! (:
